The course in downtown Ljubljana with a 2.2km circuit that riders need to do 4 times before making the relay to their teammate. Regulations have been slightly changed compared to last year: all teams with riders from the same nationality have at least one male and one female rider. They should also have at least one rider above 50 and one above 40. Last year in Trento, an Italian team with Claudia Paolazzi, Daniele Bergamo, Gabriele Valentini and Silvano Janes made a good tactical choice to keep their fastest and youngest rider till the end where he closed the gap to the escaped Polish and Australian team to take the win.

The Team Relay is not an official World Championships, but first three teams will be called to the podium to receive medals and the official hymn of the winning team will be played.

After the Team Relay, the Opening Ceremony with a rider's parade will be organized in the center.
